General
Nearly two years ago, I created the Mid-Century Modernist simply to save design inspiration and information for my future reference. That purpose will always remain, but as readership increases I recognize that this isn’t my own little personal scrapbook anymore. I am open to your ideas for making this site more useful and interesting to you. Please vote for your favorite suggestions, or submit one of your own.
Thanks,
Stephen Coles.

Post more often.
I love the blog, but your updates are too few and far between. i am filled with a deep sense of disappointment and withdrawal every time I visit and there is nothing new posted.

Add a mid-century modern forum.
I'd like to ask questions and share ideas with other enthusiasts in a dedicated forum on The Mid-Century Modernist.

Go black on white. I can't read white type on dark background.
Please change the color scheme from white type on dark gray to black type on white. It's too hard to read your brilliant commentary.

It seems like folks are overwhelmingly opposed to my rebellious color scheme in reverse. Ok, I hear you. Expect something lighter when I redesign.

Cover house tours, locations, etc.
http://www.spnea.org/visit/homes/gropius.htm
There are plenty of MCM houses to tour around the country, and enough people read this blog that could report locations, etc., which could be easily verified.
I've been to Fallingwater (Frank Lloyd Wright), the Gropius House in MA, Manitoga (Russel Wright). Here's a couple to check out.

Great idea. I’ll add it to the publishing queue.

Cover furniture maintenance.
Maintaining or rehabilitating mid century items is often difficult as finding the right reupholsterer, fabric retailer, etc is difficult. Shared information in this area would be terrific.

Excellent idea. I’ll need to do some research as I’m not an expert on this, but it’s certainly something I’ve wanted to know more about myself.

add an option to view Mid-Century Wallpapers
There have been a great shortage of mid-century (new) print wall papers and the Bradbury line is OK but there could be so much more. Melinamade seems to be getting out of the wallpaper business. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Getting the look for less.
I love a lot of mid century modern things but cannot afford authentic ones. How about showing ways to get the look for less.

watch and post about the movie "The Reader"
I just saw it and re-watched scenes again and again to take in the wonderful mid century modern furniture featured. The rooms and furniture (even in the prison!) have inspired my new room redecoration project.
3 votesThanks for the tip. Hadn’t plan to see this one, but the sets will sway me.

There are already sites who do this well, like DWR and DesignAddict, but if readers find those lacking, I’ll consider this for the MCM.

Cover more fashion.
I'm interested in clothing and hairstyles of the ’40s-60s, including the mod movement and classic modern fashions.
